inPulse can be used an alerting platform out of the box when paired with the Android app OpenWatch.

Get started with inPulse on Android

  1. Get inPulse talking with your computer
  2. When you receive your inPulse smartwatch, it will display a 'pairing screen'. Before you can use the watch with your Android smartphone, you need to load the latest notification app on it. To do this, follow the appropriate Getting Started guide for your computer OS: Mac, Windows or Linux.

  3. Download and install latest NotificationsApp
  4. After completing each step in the guide, keep both terminal windows open and execute this python command:

    python compileandload.py -d 00:50:c2:79:xx:xx -n

  5. Download and install OpenWatch beta
  6. Install the latest Android OpenWatch APK from http://beta.smartmadsoft.com. Do not install the Android Market app, it does not have support for inPulse.

  7. Pair Android phone with inPulse
  8. Pair your Android phone with inPulse using the Android Bluetooth settings menu.

  9. Setup OpenWatch
  10. Change the 'Device' listed in OpenWatch to Allerta inPulse, then enter the Bluetooth address of your watch into OpenWatch (format is 00:50:c2:79:xx:xx).

Which Phones?

It is known to work with the Nexus One, Nexus S, Droid X, and Dell Streak. Support for other devices hasn't yet been confirmed, but we expect it should work with many models.
