I see. Did you have all alerts coming through? I have received a test text message however email is not coming through?

The issue with 7 hours of uptime as it currently is with Android makes the notification app useless in my opnion so connect/reconnect seems to be the best option. I tried to tell Openwatch to use this technique but the battery life didn't seem to increase at all and I basically get no calls.

Caint seem to get any other bluetooth device to connect to phone even after disabling watch, insomnia. To get headset working had to delete the two apps.

Found a work around to get other Bluetooth devices working. Without deleting app. Use sbsettings and turn off inpulse app from there. Phone resprings and you can connect other devices. Now to figure out why I'm only getting text messages and no emails on the watch.

Emails send a different type of notification that I have not figured out how to catch yet. I'm still working on it. The disabled toggle in the settings will at some point disable it haha, as of right now it does a whole lot of nothing

Hrm... perhaps I will make it a toggle in the settings. Seems like some users will like rapid notification delivery in favor of battery life and vice versa.

I have just updated the inpulsenotifier for iPhone. Here is what's new

1. Enabled button in the settings now works Just flip it to on or off and respring.
2. Calendar appointments are now (somewhat) supported. I was sending notification type 2 to the device and nothing happend. I switched to 5 which sends the cal apts, but they don't show up in the main list. any ideas?
3. Better connection handling

Also, inpulse guys, I sometimes have issues where the phone doesn't "cleanly" disconnect from the watch and the watch requires a reboot before it will pair again. Any ideas about this? Thanks.

Is that a consistent issue with the unclean disconnects? We'll get our iPhone going this week and test it out.

Emails notifications are always tough to catch because everyone has a different setup...

The unclean disconnect issue happens to me about once a day. I'm not sure the exact situation that causes it, but it's usually when my phone decides to shut off BT by itself (bc i forgot to enable insomnia). I'm still working on a "partially connected" model where the phone will more cleanly disconnect when BT is about to shutoff. I have been chatting with the author of BTStack and he's been super helpful in these efforts.

Will keep you up to date on my progress.

Also, any idea about my issue with sending notification type 2 not showing anything on the screen?

Just a heads up. I had to make some serious mods to my inPulseNotifier Cydia repo. So if you have the current repo installed, you must REMOVE it from Cydia and RE-ADD it.

Also, I'm going to get the license (most likely MIT) in place and I'll put the code up on github sometime this week. Would love to get feedback on it and see how we can make the best possible experience on the iPhone.

Awesome to see the post. I had no idea that you're piping all push notifications to the watch. How well does that work? Catches everything?

Yes it catches everything. Between push and local notifications, I receive just about every message on my watch. It's pretty cool to see messages from AIM and Twitter show up. I'm still lacking phone calls, voicemail, and email though .

Development has slowed down a little bit as I prepare to move, but I will be back at it next month.

Have you checked out inpulsenotifier on an iPhone yet?

What are the main blocking points on phone calls and email? I seem to remember in the past that SMS was an easy jailbroken thing to do...there aren't even jailbroken APIs for phone calls and email at the moment?

Well, there aren't really "jailbroken" APIs. It's really a matter of sifting through Apple's header files and finding the appropriate methods to "hook" in to. Basically I need to figure out which method gets called when the phone starts ringing. Email is the same way. Just have to spend more time in their headers.

Have you done any work with Brandon's iPhone app? It seems to me that you would open the door to a LOT more business if you continued Brandon's development of the iPhone app to match the features of the Blackberry app.

I for one would buy an inPulse watch immediately if the app added the email/phone notifications and disconnected to preserve battery life (what Brandon was going to look into a couple months ago). I have to imagine there are many others out there like me who are very interested in the watch but want it to just work and don't have the coding skill to do it ourselves.

Hoping for some progress!
