For some reason my watch has started rebooting itself and apps cannot run. After uploading any app (I've been trying with Analog Watchface now), the app shows for a moment, then there is a buzz and the watch reboots.

It also seems that the watch doesn't accept uploading of resources. compileandload.py -r just keeps Retrying packet. Tried with both SDK 1.1.1 and SDK 1.1.2.

Any ideas? Is the resource management somehow broken and needs a hard reset? This used to work for me just fine and then it just broke one day, after running completely out of battery. I was using a custom app with a lot of resources.

Have you tried going into the VLF firmware by holding the button for twenty seconds until it displays "Loading..."? I've found that reloading the default notification app (compileandload.py -n) from that starting point would sometimes restore a working configuration of app + resources and allow things to restart.

I tried it now, but the result is the same . After uploading with compileandload.py -n the watch starts the new app, then buzzes, reboots and tries again, until it gives up.

Also, I get this at the end of compileandload.py -n (restarting L2CAPServer doesn't help, I guess it's because the watch keeps rebooting itself):

Rebooting watch...
trying to connect to:
localhost
.
2
Got error in response. Try restarting L2CAPServer and try again.

After letting the battery drain on the watch, are you able to reload the regular notifications app by using the -n command?

Also, have you tried resending the simple falling box demo app?

I let the battery drain (watch wouldn't react to button any more), then connected to USB and uploaded with -n. Still same result: watch keeps rebooting as soon as the app has been started. Same thing happens with the falling box demo app. The watch always eventually ends up in the "Loading..." screen and then goes to the Bluetooth pair code screen.

We've seen a few reports of this and we're looking into it. Do you remember which app you had working on it last?

It was my own code, a pretty basic app but using a lot of bitmap resources (full Photoshopped background etc).

Also I don't know if time zones have any matter in this but I'm in GMT+3 (Europe/Helsinki).

We're going to have to replace your watch, haven't come up with a in-field solution yet. Ping me an email ([email protected]) and we'll get it done!
