I have tried the OpenWatch app (version 1.5.0 obtained from Marketplace, on a brand new Verizon Droid X 2, and a Droid Incredible 2. Both had the OpenWatch app crash when trying to test. I was able to pair (but not connect) to the InPulse via Android's Bluetooth, then went into OpenWatch, select Allerta InPulse, provided the InPulse MAC address (in the Incredible, the same MAC option was not available for the X2), and on both phones the app crashed when trying to "test".

what is the OS version on the phones? Alot of phones it seems like need 2.3 to work. it's an issue with the Bluetooth drivers. Some manufacturers have included the L2Cap support in their OS below 2.3 The FC you describe is what i would get when I didn't have the correct BT drivers on the phone. I also checked out androidcentral and xda-developers and neither seem to have much development going on for these phones yet.
